Summer Garden Bird Lovers

A garden is a source of joy and happiness for those who love nature and its’ beauty. For bird lovers it is essential to have a summer garden as it attracts a lot of birds and other creatures. It always a pleasure to listen to the chirping and squeaking of birds and planting a summer garden would ensure that birds visit your place too often. These gardens are easy to maintain and serve as a paradise for bird lovers.

Here are some ways in which you can design a summer garden to attract birds and enjoy the beauty of nature at its zenith.

  1. Any summer garden would consist of fruit bearing plants and flowers, which are a main source of attracting birds, bees and other insects. Always make sure that you have fruit and flowers which bear nectar so that birds can feed on them.
  2. Birds love to play in water, so make sure that you have some source of water in your garden. It could either be a pond or a water fountain or a small waterfall. This will attract a lot of birds in your garden but utmost attention should be given to the fact that the water does not remain at one place; otherwise it will bread mosquitoes and other deadly insects. It is desirable to have a running source of water in your garden.
  3. You may also research on the type of birds that your area and the kind of food (plants or trees) they like.  You should also keep in mind that birds attract predators and hence it becomes essential to have an environment where birds can hang out and not the predators. You should take care of the type of insecticides and pesticides sprayed by you as it may harm the birds.
  4. You can also place birdhouses to attract birds in your garden. Birdhouses are easy to build and the birds may stay forever in them if they really like the one made by you! Moreover, trees or plants with huge leaves will be preferred by birds to build nests. Having pets such as dogs and cats will deter birds from visiting your place.
  5. Lastly, keep in mind that birds don’t like many people watching them. So if possible look at them from a corner or from your window. You can click the pictures of the different birds visiting your place and can create  wonderful  memories of these feathered friends.
